Frequently Asked Questions
- Should we tip our DJ?
Tips are not necessary, but are always appreciated. If you feel your DJ went above and beyond or gave you excellent service that is totally up to you.
- Do you have a DVD/Video we can see of a performance?
We do not. Most videos that have been produced have a number of “legal” issues to contend with, including permission from everyone on the video to allow us to show a video, permission from any and all of the artists of the music being used and production costs of the video itself. These costs are usually passed onto you the customer and we try to keep our costs competitive to the market.
- Can we see you perform?
Most venues (and typically most brides) do not allow us to bring potential clients in to see us perform. In certain situations, we may be able to have you arrive before a performance to see and hear our equipment. We do have an extensive reference section on our website and any of the local venues have us on their “preferred vendor list”.
- Do we have to meet in person for our consultation?
Traditionally we start with a phone consultation. Our experience tells us what questions to ask you to customize your day. After our consultation most do not feel to meet in person, but if you would still like to have a face to face meeting, by all means we’ll arrange something convenient to your schedule.
- What is included in my package?
Your package includes, an initial phone consultation, explanation of our questionnaire and music and custom building of your music library. We will arrive one hour before your contract music start time for set up. You’ll receive a professional emcee/entertainer providing continuous music as well as the execution of any and all formalities you choose to have performed at your reception.
- Do you provide ceremony music?
Ceremony music can be added to any reception package. Rates are based upon what type of sound equipment is needed and if the ceremony is taking place in a location other than your reception. We have wireless microphones and microphone stands for live singing or readings and wireless lavaliere systems for the officiate.
- How far do you travel?
There are no charges for the greater Asheville area. A travel charge exists for any distance greater than 45 minutes of travel from our office. Prices are subject to current gasoline prices and will be determined on a case by case basis. Our service area extends from Tennessee to South Carolina and as far east as Hickory NC
- How many DJ’s will come to my event?
We send one employee to each event.
- Do you bring back-up equipment?
Yes. First off, all of our equipment is professional touring grade equipment. That means it can handles the rigors of the road and still deliver the highest in quality sound. Plans are made to anticipate what can possibly go wrong and have the proper back up equipment to address it. Barring acts of God, we can usually handle any equipment issues.
- Do your DJ’s take breaks?
No, our DJ’s do not take breaks. You will never notice a break in the music. Your DJ is a professional and unlike a live performance your party will never come to a stop until you say it’s time.

All of our DJ’s wear “black and whites”. Black dress pants, white button down collarless shirt, top-button button cover, black vest, black socks, black dress shoes.

We do not provide karaoke music for wedding receptions or encourage “open mic”. Our systems can even handle a guitar or keyboard hook up as well. Special arrangements should be made if you wish a live performance at your event.
- Do you provide lights?
Lighting is not included in your wedding package. We do have special prices for light packages. Most of the venues in the Asheville area do not need any special lighting or club lighting. Talk with us during your initial consultation and we can determine what would work best for you.
- Do I have to provide a meal for my DJ?
We ask this at the end of our Bridal Questionnaire. It is not mandatory, but always appreciated. Knowing the answer ahead of time simply allows our staff to the proper arrangements. If you do provide a meal, your DJ will eat discretely. If you give permission to the DJ to go through the buffet line, we always make sure your guests have been taken care of 1st. Our DJ’s are instructed not to consume alcohol before or during your contracted time period.
- Can I meet my DJ in person ahead of time?
Protocol is to have an initial consultation with the owner of the company. You will be sent a Bridal Questionnaire in which you pick and choose the formalities so your reception will be customized to your specific needs. You will fill out your musical likes and make us aware of any musical dislikes. This package is then given to your DJ who will follow your plan. If it makes you more comfortable to meet with this DJ ahead of time then yes, special arrangements can be made to do so.
